Yael Katz Ben-Yitzchak
As director of community leadership programming, Yael is responsible for helping Jewish spiritual community leaders create Jewish content for their communities. She is the director of Dvash Misela, a HaMidrasha program that cultivates Jewish spiritual communities and their leaders. At heart, Yael is an educator and community organizer, and she brings tremendous energy and over two decades of professional experience to her work. Yael is trained as a social worker and organizational consultant and holds a graduate degree in non-profit and community organizational management from the Hebrew University.
Dan Keidar
Dan heads HaMidrasha’s HeChalutz post-army programming for young adults, including Made in Israel, Seeds of Summer, and lectures on Zionism and Israeli culture. He is a member of Carmel, a young community in the Hadar neighborhood of Haifa, and a musician at heart. Dan’s beats can be heard wherever he goes.

Shai Plavnick
Shai is the director of HaMidrasha’s Made in Israel program and previously worked at Mechinat Rabin. He is a graduate of Mechinat Rabin and served in the IDF as an officer in the Givati Brigade before enlisting as a career officer in the Israeli Air Force, where he continues to perform reserve duty. Shai is working on his BA in political science and Jewish history. He and his wife, Lina, met at Mechinat Rabin and are members of the Carmel young activist community in Haifa’s Hadar neighborhood.

Laura Talinovsky
Laura is the director of Mechinat Rabin–Haifa, the mechina’s only urban branch, and is studying for a master’s degree in public policy from the Honors Graduate Program of the Federmann School of Public Policy and Government at the Hebrew University. She previously served in the IDF Intelligence Corps, earned a BA with honors in political science and sociology from the Hebrew University, and spent a year at New York University as a fellow of the Paths to Peace leadership program. During her BA studies, Laura established Generation 1.5, a group focused on issues of status and identity among Russian Israelis.
Since 2014, Laura has taught courses on economics, society, government, and gender at the Yezreel Valley Academic College, Mechinat Rabin, and elsewhere. She is a past director of the One Voice Movement and served as a parliamentary advisor to former Knesset opposition leader MK Shelly Yachimovich.
